Aims/Objectives/Mission : The main aim of Vikas Niketan is to build up a society which promotes equality, justice, freedom and active participation of the people for a sustainable development. Its objectives include identifying, prioritizing and solving various village level problems with active participation from the people. It also aims to initiate various developmental projects on education, health, agriculture, environment and appropriate technology to improve the socio-economic standard of the people, especially of women and children. It also undertakes educational and rehabilitative programmes for the disabled and aged. Some of the activities undertaken by the organisation inorder to achieve its objectives include conducting motivation and awareness camps at village level, helping the people to solve their own problems; community health education through the village animators; immunisation camps in collaboration with the health department and promotion of safe drinking water.
